Selected beneficiaries of the Program are returning OWWA members, active or non-active who were take over by hostilities or wars/political conflicts, policy reforms or changes by host governments; victims of illegal recruitment or human trafficking or other distressful situations.
Distressed wards at the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Resource Centers who are due for repatriation; and OWWA-members who were employed by foreign employers which suffered with financial difficulties due to economic conditions.
Since 2017, the OFWs who presented the benefit of the program reaches to about 200,000 individuals.
As the number of OFWs in distress swell, OWWA through Admin Hans Leo Cacdac, assures every OFWs that their office is ready to give assistance within its capacity as mandated by law.
Every OFW with existing work contract could avail the P20,000 assistance offered by Balik-Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay Program.
If you are in the situation similar to the following:
-Lost your job abroad due to political unrest, war, or an economic problem which caused an immediate crisis in your host country.
-Victimized by illegal recruitment, human trafficking and other distressful situations such as maltreatment, sexual or verbal abuse.
-Distressed OFWs who are temporarily under the custody of Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipino Resource Centers while waiting for repatriation.
-OWWA members who are forcefully retrenched or the company ceased its operation due to financial problems.
